Với đề này, bạn cần làm rõ ba yếu tố: cuộc sống trước khi đưa ra quyết định, điều gì khiến bạn quyết định thay đổi và quyết định đó mang lại kết quả gì.

Storyline của bài có thể ghi nhớ đơn giản như sau: Science student → Basic English → Saw other people’s opportunities → Changed mindset → Decided to improve English → Practiced every day → Slow progress → Became more confident → More opportunities

Introduction: Giới thiệu quyết định

I’ll talk about a time when I had to make an important decision about my education. It was the decision to take English seriously and spend much more time improving my language skills.Looking back, I think it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made because it completely changed the way I approached my studies and future career.

Before the Decision: Bản thân trước khi thay đổi

As a science student, I used to focus mainly on subjects like maths and physics. My English was pretty basic, just enough to pass school exams and understand simple conversations. At that time, I didn’t think English would play an important role in my future studies or career. So naturally, improving my English wasn’t really a priority for me.

Why I Made the Decision: Lý do đưa ra quyết định

However, my mindset changed a few years later. I started noticing that people who were good at English seemed much more confident when communicating with others. More importantly, they had access to better study and career opportunities. Some could study abroad, while others could apply for international programs or jobs that required English. Seeing those opportunities made me realize that my limited English could hold me back in the future. Their success really inspired me, so I decided to take English more seriously and improve my language skills.

Once I had made the decision, I started spending time on English every day. I learned new vocabulary, practiced listening and read more English materials. At first, it was quite frustrating because I didn’t see much progress. There were times when I wondered whether all the effort was actually worth it. Still, I decided to stick with it instead of giving up.

Gradually, I began to notice a real difference. I could understand longer texts and conversations, and I became much more comfortable using English in everyday situations. For example, I could write emails in English and communicate with foreigners without feeling as nervous as before. More importantly, learning English gave me access to much more information and made me more confident in myself. Looking back, deciding to improve my English may sound like a simple choice, but it had a significant impact on my life. That’s why I consider it one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made.

3. Cách triển khai câu trả lời

Bạn có thể chia bài thành 4 phần để tránh phải học thuộc toàn bộ sample answer.

Trong đó, phần turning point đặc biệt quan trọng. Nếu chỉ kể rằng “I decided to learn English and then my English improved”, câu chuyện sẽ thiếu lý do khiến quyết định đó trở nên important.

4. Vocabulary về Making Decisions

make an important decision:Đưa ra một quyết định quan trọng.

I had to make an important decision about my education.

take something seriously:Bắt đầu coi trọng và dành nhiều nỗ lực cho một việc.

I decided to take English seriously.

change your mindset: Thay đổi cách suy nghĩ hoặc quan điểm.

My mindset changed when I saw how useful English could be.

make something a priority:Đặt một việc trở thành ưu tiên.

Improving my English wasn’t really a priority for me.

hold someone back:Kìm hãm hoặc ngăn ai đó phát triển.

I realized that my limited English could hold me back.

6. Những cụm từ nên học từ bài mẫu

Thay vì học từng từ riêng lẻ, bạn có thể ghi nhớ theo cụm:

focus mainly on science subjects → chủ yếu tập trung vào các môn tự nhiên

play an important role in my future → đóng vai trò quan trọng trong tương lai

better study and career opportunities → cơ hội học tập và nghề nghiệp tốt hơn

7. Cách ghi nhớ bài bằng Storyline

Bạn chỉ cần nhớ:

Science student → Basic English → Not important → Saw successful people → More opportunities → Changed mindset → Study every day → Frustrated → Kept going → Improved → More confident

Điểm quan trọng nhất của storyline nằm ở sự thay đổi:

Before: English wasn’t important to me.

Turning point: I saw how English created opportunities for other people.

Decision: I decided to take English seriously.

After: My English improved and I became more confident.

Nếu nhớ được logic này, bạn có thể tự xây dựng lại câu trả lời mà không cần học thuộc từng câu.

8. Tổng kết
