Question 1: What kinds of famous people are often in the news in your country?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

Well, in Vietnam, singers, actors, football players, influencers, and businesspeople are often in the news.

Entertainment celebrities appear a lot because their music, films, fashion, and personal lives can easily grab public attention.

For example, when a famous singer like Son Tung MTP releases a new music video or joins a big concert, it usually becomes a hot topic on social media.

Sports stars, especially football players, are also popular because football has a huge fan base in Vietnam.

Another group is online influencers, who may become famous through TikTok, livestreaming, or creating viral content.

Từ vựng nổi bật:

Từ vựng Ý nghĩa
grab public attention Thu hút sự chú ý của công chúng
a huge fan base Lượng người hâm mộ đông đảo
a hot topic Chủ đề được quan tâm, bàn luận nhiều
online influencers Người có sức ảnh hưởng trên mạng
viral content Nội dung lan truyền mạnh trên mạng

Question 2: Why do children want to become famous?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

Well, children often want to become famous because fame looks exciting and glamorous from the outside.

They may see singers, actors, or YouTubers receiving attention, gifts, and praise, so they think famous people live a dream life.

For young children, being recognized by many people can feel like proof that they are special.

Another reason is that children may not fully understand the pressure behind fame. They see the stage, the cameras, and the fans, but they may not see the criticism, long working hours, or lack of privacy.

Ultimately, I think children want fame mainly because they are attracted to the fun side of it, not because they understand the price that comes with it.

Từ vựng nổi bật:

Từ vựng Ý nghĩa
exciting and glamorous Thú vị và hào nhoáng
a dream life Cuộc sống trong mơ
lack of privacy Thiếu sự riêng tư
the price that comes with something Cái giá phải trả cho điều gì
receive attention and praise Nhận được sự chú ý và khen ngợi

Question 3: Are there more celebrities in the news now?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

Absolutely, I think there are more celebrities in the news now because social media has made fame much easier to create and spread.

In the past, people usually became famous through television, cinema, music, or sports, so there were fewer public figures.

Nowadays, someone can become well-known just by posting funny videos, sharing beauty tips, or going viral online.

Another reason is that news platforms need constant content, and celebrity stories are easy to read and share.

Even small things like a celebrity’s outfit, relationship, or opinion can become headline news within hours.

I guess there really are more celebrities in the news today, although not all of them have lasting influence.

Từ vựng nổi bật:

Từ vựng Ý nghĩa
go viral online Lan truyền mạnh trên mạng
constant content Nội dung được cập nhật liên tục
headline news Tin tức nổi bật, tin trang nhất
lasting influence Sức ảnh hưởng lâu dài
public figures Những nhân vật được công chúng biết đến

Question 4: Do you agree that everyone enjoys reading news about celebrities?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

To be honest, I don’t think everyone enjoys celebrity news, although many people do.

Some people like it because it is light, entertaining, and easy to follow after a long day of work or study.

Reading about a singer’s new song or an actor’s wedding can be a simple way to switch off and relax.

However, others find celebrity news boring or even annoying because it can feel shallow and repetitive.

They may prefer serious topics like politics, education, technology, or business because those things have more real-life impact.

Từ vựng nổi bật:

Từ vựng Ý nghĩa
light, entertaining, and easy to follow Nhẹ nhàng, giải trí và dễ theo dõi
switch off Thư giãn, tạm ngừng suy nghĩ về công việc
boring or even annoying Nhàm chán hoặc thậm chí gây khó chịu
shallow and repetitive Hời hợt và lặp đi lặp lại
real-life impact Tác động đến cuộc sống thực tế

Question 5: Do people like packaged celebrities or those with genuine talent?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

In my opinion, people may notice packaged celebrities first, but they usually respect those with genuine talent more in the long run.

A celebrity with good styling, strong marketing, and a carefully designed image can become popular very quickly.

This is especially true on social media, where appearance and personality can create a buzz almost overnight.

However, without real ability, it is hard for them to maintain public interest for many years.

People may enjoy the image for a while, but eventually they want singers who can sing well, actors who can act, or creators who can produce quality content.

Question 6: Is it possible for people to become famous without talent?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

Well, yes, it is possible for people to become famous without much talent, especially in the age of social media.

Some people become known because of scandals, funny moments, unusual appearances, or controversial opinions.

If a video spreads quickly online, a person can gain attention even without any special skill.

However, becoming famous is different from staying famous.

Without talent, discipline, or something meaningful to offer, public attention usually disappears quite quickly.

I’d say people can become famous without talent, but it is much harder for them to build a lasting career.

build a lasting career Xây dựng sự nghiệp bền vững

Question 7: Would people still want to become famous if they knew what they are going to face?

Sample Answer (Band 8.0+ tham khảo):

Well, some people would still want to become famous because the rewards can be very attractive.

Fame can bring money, opportunities, admiration, and a powerful public image, so ambitious people may accept the pressure that comes with it.

For example, many young people may still dream of becoming singers or influencers even though they know the competition is intense.

However, others might change their minds if they truly understood the loss of privacy, online criticism, and constant pressure to look perfect.

Being watched all the time can be exhausting, and even small mistakes can turn into a scandal.

While fame would still attract many people, fewer would chase it blindly if they understood the emotional cost.

Từ vựng nổi bật:

Từ vựng Ý nghĩa
a powerful public image Hình ảnh có sức ảnh hưởng lớn trước công chúng
ambitious people Những người có tham vọng
intense competition Sự cạnh tranh khốc liệt
turn into a scandal Trở thành một vụ bê bối
chase something blindly Theo đuổi điều gì một cách mù quáng
the emotional cost Cái giá phải trả về mặt tinh thần
