I. Một vài chủ đề hay ra trong đề thi IELTS Speaking

1. Weekends

  • Do you make plans for your weekends?

Yes, I usually make plans for my weekends because I like to balance relaxation and productivity. I might schedule time to meet friends, go to the gym, or finish some work, but I also make sure to leave time for myself to unwind.

  • What did you do last weekend?

Last weekend, I met up with some friends at a coffee shop and we spent a few hours chatting. After that, I went for a walk in a nearby park to enjoy the fresh air. It was a simple, relaxing weekend, which was exactly what I needed after a busy week.

  • What do you usually do on weekends? Do you study or work?

On weekends, I try to relax as much as possible. I’ll sometimes do a bit of work if necessary, but I prefer to take a break, meet friends, or spend time outdoors. I think it’s important to recharge after a long week.

  • Do you like weekends?

Absolutely, weekends are my favourite time of the week. They give me a chance to rest and recharge for the coming week, and I can spend more time doing things I enjoy.

2. Happy Things

  • Do you think people are happy when buying new things?

Yes, I think people do feel happy when they buy something new, but the happiness is often temporary. It’s more about the excitement of having something new, but it usually fades after a while.

  • Do you feel happy when buying new things?

To be honest, I feel happy when I buy something that I’ve been wanting for a long time, like a new phone or a nice outfit. However, like most people, I know this happiness doesn’t last forever.

  • When do you feel happy at work? Why?

I feel most happy at work when I can see my students making progress. It’s a really rewarding experience to know that I’m helping them reach their goals and become more confident in their abilities.

  • What do you think will make you feel happy in the future?

In the future, I think achieving my personal and professional goals will make me happy. Whether it’s improving my skills or traveling more, I believe that continuous growth and new experiences will bring happiness.

  • What made you happy when you were little?

When I was little, the simplest things made me happy. I loved playing outside with friends, riding my bike, and spending time with my family. These are the moments I still look back on fondly.

3. T-shirts

  • Would you buy T-shirts as souvenirs on vacation?

Yes, I would. T-shirts are a great way to remember a trip, and they’re also practical souvenirs. I like buying ones with the name of the city or an interesting design to remind me of where I’ve been.

  • Do you think older people who wear T-shirts are fashionable?

I think anyone can be fashionable, regardless of age. If an older person feels comfortable and confident wearing a T-shirt, I think that’s what makes it look stylish.

  • Do you like T-shirts with pictures or prints?

Yes, I do! I find T-shirts with pictures or prints really fun because they can express your personality or interests. I especially like ones with designs related to music or travel.

  • How often do you wear T-shirts?

I wear T-shirts quite often, especially on casual days. They’re comfortable and easy to match with other clothes, so they’re a staple in my wardrobe.

  • Do you like wearing T-shirts?

Yes, I like wearing T-shirts because they’re so comfortable. Whether I’m at home or going out for a casual day, a T-shirt is always a good choice.

4. Beautiful Views/Good Views

  • What is your favourite place? Why?

My favourite place is a small beach I visited a few years ago. It has crystal-clear water and stunning views of the horizon, which made it incredibly peaceful. I love places that give me a sense of serenity.

  • Would you take photos when you see a good view?

Yes, definitely. Whenever I come across a beautiful view, I always take photos to capture the moment. It’s a way for me to remember those peaceful experiences and share them with friends or family later.

  • Have you seen an unforgettable and beautiful view or scenery?

Yes, I once saw the sunset over a mountain range, and it was breathtaking. The colours in the sky were so vivid that I couldn’t stop staring. It’s one of those moments you never forget because it feels so surreal.

5. E-books and Paper Books

  • Do you think paper books will disappear in the future?

I don’t think paper books will disappear completely, but they might become less common as more people switch to e-books. However, some people still prefer the tangible feeling of holding a physical book and enjoy collecting them.

  • Will you read more online in the future?

Yes, I think I’ll read more online, especially since e-books are more convenient and accessible. I can carry multiple books on one device, and it’s easy to find new titles. Online reading is also more eco-friendly, which is a bonus.

  • What do you usually read online?

I usually read news articles, blogs, and research papers online. It’s a quick and easy way to stay informed and learn about different topics. I also enjoy reading online magazines and short stories whenever I have some free time.

  • Which do you prefer, e-books or paper books?

I prefer e-books for their convenience, but I still love paper books for the experience. Reading a physical book feels more relaxing, and I like the smell and texture of the pages. Both formats have their own unique charm.

6. Social Media

People use social media to stay connected, share updates, and keep in touch with friends and family. They also use it to follow news, join groups based on their interests, and share photos or videos of their experiences.

Yes, most of my friends use social media regularly. It’s a convenient way to stay updated on each other’s lives, especially when we don’t have time to meet in person. They also use it to discover new trends or interesting content.

  • Do you think you spend too much time on social media?

Sometimes, yes. I try to limit my time on social media, but it’s easy to get distracted scrolling through posts. I’ve been trying to be more mindful of my usage and focus on spending time on activities that are more productive.

7. Music

  • What do you think about playing music for children in class?

I think playing music for children in class can be a great way to enhance their learning experience. Music has been shown to improve focus and create a positive, relaxed environment. For younger children, music can make lessons more fun and engaging, while older students might find it helpful for concentration during independent work or creative activities. Of course, the type of music should be carefully selected to ensure it doesn’t become a distraction.

  • Why do many teachers incorporate music into the classroom?

Many teachers incorporate music because it can have a calming effect on students and help them stay focused during lessons. Music can also be used to reinforce certain concepts or create a more enjoyable learning atmosphere. For example, teachers might use songs to teach young children about language or rhythm. Additionally, background music during individual or group work can help reduce stress and improve productivity, as long as it’s not too distracting.

  • Do you think there are any advantages to a shop with music playing?

Yes, there are certainly advantages to having music in a shop. Music can create a more pleasant atmosphere, making customers feel comfortable and encouraging them to spend more time browsing. Depending on the type of music, it can also influence the mood and shopping behavior of customers. For instance, slower, calming music might make people stay longer, while upbeat tunes could energize them. Additionally, music can help create a brand identity for the store, making it more memorable.
